Your data, and what we do with it

Last updated September 7, 2026

Matchr is a resume-matching tool for LinkedIn job postings, available as a Chrome extension and a web dashboard at matchr.in. This page explains, plainly, what data we collect, why, and what we do (and don't do) with it.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address, and either a hashed password (if you sign up with email) or your Google account ID (if you sign up with Google). We never store your Google password or your Matchr password in plain text.

Your resume. When you upload a resume, we store the file itself and text extracted from it (skills, experience, and similar details) so Matchr can compare it against job postings.

Job posting data. When you open a LinkedIn job posting with the Matchr extension's side panel active, the extension reads the job title, company name, location, description text, and company logo directly off that page and sends it to our backend to generate a match score. The extension only reads job postings on linkedin.com/jobs, and it does not read any other page you visit, your LinkedIn profile, messages, or connections.

Match results. The score, reasoning, gaps, and suggestions Matchr generates for each job you analyze, tied to your account so your match history is available in the dashboard.

Payment records. If you buy a pass or top-up, we store the amount, plan, and payment status. Card and UPI details are handled entirely by our payment processor, Razorpay. Matchr never sees or stores your card number, UPI ID, or bank details.

API keys. Keys you generate to connect the Chrome extension to your account. We store only a one-way hash of each key, never the key itself, once it's been shown to you at creation.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data, to anyone, ever.
  • We don't use any third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the extension or dashboard.
  • We don't read anything on LinkedIn outside of job posting pages.
  • We don't share your resume or job match data with employers, recruiters, or LinkedIn itself.

How we use it

Solely to run Matchr: generating your match scores, keeping your resume and match history available in your dashboard, authenticating your account and extension, processing payments, and fixing bugs when something breaks. We don't use your data to train third-party AI models beyond what's needed to score a single match at the time you request it.

Storage and security

Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure (Cloud Run and Cloud Storage) with encryption in transit (HTTPS) for everything sent between the extension, the dashboard, and our servers. Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text; API keys work the same way.

Your controls

You can delete individual resumes and revoke API keys directly from the dashboard. To delete your account and all associated data, email us (below) and we'll process the request.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects how your data is handled, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email.
